Pembroke

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffery Allan Byer, a beloved father, brother, and friend. Jeffery passed away on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, at the age of 66. He resided in Pembroke, Georgia, but his heart was forever tied to his birthplace of Eaton Rapids, Michigan.

Born on August 26th, 1959, Jeffery was a vibrant soul with a generosity of spirit and a master of his craft. As a Master Cosmetologist, Jeffery spent over 40 remarkable years shaping the beauty industry with his own business, Jeffrey Byer Hair, on North Main Street in Pembroke. His skilled touch and creative flair left a lasting impact on his clients and colleagues.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Samuel Byer and Julia Ann Norris Byer, and his brother, Chris Byer. He is lovingly survived by his two sons, Jason Byer of Alabama and Andrew Byer (Melissa) of Rockland, ME; his brothers, Craig Byer (Tomoko) of Ohio and Scott Byer of Michigan; and his dear friend, Gene Conley of Pembroke.

Jeffery's legacy continues through his nine wonderful grandchildren—Knasic, Sam, Cody, Cameron, Kendall, Kennedy, Dakota, Marley, and Jaxon—and the numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who had the privilege of knowing him.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jeffery was passionate about cooking and nurturing his family and friends with warmth and hospitality. He was an avid enthusiast of sewing, quilt making, and knitting—crafts that brought him both joy and relaxation. Jeffery's love for traveling and socializing brought him countless adventures and cherished memories.

As we celebrate Jeffery's life, a memorial service will be held at a later date at the Skinner Funeral Home, located at 315 South River Street, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827. Here, Jeffery will be laid to rest with his parents, reaffirming the deep bonds of family.

Arrangements have been thoughtfully provided by Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory. Jeffery was a beacon of kindness and creativity, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
