James Eddie Collins

Pembroke-  James Eddie Collins, age 67 passed away Monday, October 13, 2023 at his home will under hospice care.  Mr. Collins was born in Statesboro, GA to the late Mandel Collins and Katie Maud Crosby Collins.  He was retired as a tractor mechanic and attended Black Creek Holy Church of God.  Mr. Eddie loved gospel and blue grass sings and enjoyed Bryan County High School football games.  He enjoyed dirt track races, hunting, fishing and anything to take him outside with his dog, Cocoa. In addition to his parents, Mr. Eddie was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Collins and Alvin Crosby.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Dorrea Lynn Dopp Collins of Pembroke; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Mikel and Kristie Collins of Monck’s Corner, Bill Carpenter of OH and Jamie Collins of Charleston; three daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Josue Aponte, Sr. of Claxton, Daisy and Dawayne Gregory of Reidsville and Amy and Tim Howell of TN; one brother, Bobby Collins of Pembroke; two sisters, Geraldine Roberts of Pembroke and Ginny Thompson of Metter; 13 grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Mr. Collins life will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Black Creek Holy Church of God with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.
