James Dykes, Sr.

Ellabell-  James Lee Dykes, Sr., age 75 passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  Mr. Dykes was born in Haileyville, AL to the late Buford Dykes and Goldie Virginia Woods Dykes.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War on the USS Arlington in the Tonkin Gulf.  Mr. Dykes was retired from Gulfstream Aerospace where he was a senior technician in fiberglass fabrication.  He loved animals and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and working in his yard.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Dykes was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Patricia C. Dykes; two brothers, Joe Anthony Dykes and Dennis Dykes, and one sister, Carol Barnes.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, James L. Dykes, Jr. of Ellabell and Michael and Lorna Dykes of Colorado; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Gary Provost of Ellabell; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren
