Herbert "Herb" Hezzie Calahan, Sr.

Mr. Herbert “Herb” Hezzie Calahan, Sr., 75, passed away at his residence on Friday, May 2, 2025. Mr. Calahan was born in Sylvania to the late Herbert Calahan and Frances Geneva Roberts Calahan on December 25, 1949. He was a welder for over 30 years with Sanders Fabrication, was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed classic cars and motorcycles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Calahan, Sr., Darnel Calahan, Russ Calahan and Charles Russell and one grandson, Grayson Covey.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Kathy Lanier Calahan; three sons, Herbert Calahan, Jr. of Cambridge, MD, Rodney Calahan of Delaware and Jason Horton and his significant other, Michelle Covington of Tennessee; three daughters, Barbie Jean Eberling and her husband Tom of Maryland, Heather Anderson and her husband Bill of Delaware and Ashlee Lewis and her husband Flash of Pembroke; special family member, Bryon Lewis and his wife Kelcie of Guyton; brother, Mark Vincent of Pembroke; five sisters, Theresa Herb of Pembroke, Janet Marvel and her husband David of Delaware, Sandra Usher of Brooklet, Dorothy McCullough and her husband Jimmy of Soperton and Tonya Gordon of Rincon; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jordan McCoy officiating.

Burial will be private.
