Mr. Harvey Lee Loyd, 84, passed away on February 4, 2015 at Hospice of Savannah. He was a U.S.  Army Veteran having served during the Korean War with the 24th Div., 19th Regiment, 1st Battalion, Co. B. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Solomon’s Lodge No. 1, F & AM, Scottish Rite, Bethlehem Chapter #269, Order of Eastern Star, and The Holy Church of God @ Black Creek. He retired as a Journeyman Ironworker with over 40 years of service with Local 709 Savannah, Georgia. Mr. Loyd enjoyed fishing, hunting, and most of all, church and his family.

Mr. Loyd is preceded in death by his parents, Dan J. Loyd and Ella Mae Lester; brothers, Pete Loyd, Paul Loyd, Phillip Loyd, and Ray Loyd; sisters, Ivy Goodman, and Joyce Parsons.

Survivors include his loving wife, Janice R. Loyd; sons, Jimmie Lee Loyd of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Danny Clyde Loyd of Arkansas; stepsons, John Jarrell of Ellabell, and Benny R. Woods, Jr. of Lucedale, Mississippi; step-daughter, Kimberley K. Gillespie of Ellabell; brothers, Earl Loyd of California, and John Albert Loyd of Michigan; sisters, Mary Murphy of Missouri, Marjorie Baber of Florida, and Jeanette Smith of Michigan; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 5 -7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins, Ga.
