Frederick Karl Buettner, a cherished resident of Ellabell, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on Saturday, April 6th, 1957, in Cherry Point, North Carolina, Frederick's life was a testament to dedication, love, and service.

Frederick proudly served his country as in the United States Navy, embodying the values of duty and commitment throughout his life. After his service, Frederick pursued his passion for cooking, earning an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts. His culinary talents were widely appreciated by all who knew him, and he carried his love for the kitchen into every facet of his life.

An avid fisherman, Frederick found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of spending quiet mornings by the water, casting a line and embracing the beauty of nature. His love for fishing was contagious and something he delighted in sharing with family and friends.

Frederick leaves behind his devoted wife of 23 years, JoEllen Buettner, who stood by his side as his constant companion and confidante. He is also survived by his beloved children, Kari Precopi (Kevin) of Jacksonville, FL, Daniel Buettner (Elizabeth) of North Carolina, Joanna Sayre (Scooter) of Ellabell, and Jamie Johnson (Mathew) of Ellabell. His legacy continues through his 15 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will fondly remember him for his warmth, wisdom, and humor.

He is survived by his father, Frederick Karl Buettner, Sr., and siblings, Bunny Schreiner (David) of Glennville, GA, David Buettner (Diana) of West haven, UT, and Jay Buettner of York, PA. Frederick was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Beverly Ann Melzer Buettner, whose memory he cherished deeply.
