Freda Mae Bazemore

Ellabell-  Mrs. Freda Mae Thomas Bazemore, age 77, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023.  Mrs. Bazemore was born June 26, 1946 in Savannah, GA to the late Walter Thomas, Sr. and Wasta Mae Hendry Thomas.  Mrs. Bazemore was the youngest of 23 children, was a graduate of Armstrong State University and was a registered nurse.  She served as a psychiatric nurse at Georgia Regional Hospital and retired with 35 years of service.  Mrs. Bazemore was a member of Bethany Church of Ellabell and loved making crafts and jewelry.  She often sold her jewelry at local festivals and bazaars.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bazemore was preceded in death by 20 brothers and sisters. 

Survivors include her son, Ralph Hayward “Mike” Linton of Midway; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan Linton Dust and Darrel Dust of Ellabell; one brother, Cecil Strickland of TN; one sister, Mary White of Savannah; three grandchildren, Teri Ann Linton, Joshua Evan Smith, Harley Breanne Smith and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 10-11 A.M. Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 11 A.M. Saturday, July 8, 2023 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with interment to follow in Bethany Church of Ellabell Cemetery.
