Frances B. McKie

Ellabell, GA – Frances B. McKie, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on September 14, 1944, in Augusta to the late James Beck Benson and Alberta Brown Benson, Frances enriched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness, unwavering faith, and dedication to her family and community.

Frances enjoyed a fulfilling career as a CNA, dedicating 32 years to the Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center in Augusta. Her compassionate care and dedication to her patients left an indelible mark on the many lives she touched throughout her career.

A devoted member of the Presbyterian faith, Frances found solace and strength in her spiritual life, always dedicating herself to the service of others.

Frances is survived by her loving son, Aaron McKie, Jr. (Karen); her brother, Jeffrey Bernard Benson (Linda); six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish her memory. She is preceded in death by her father, James Beck Benson; mother, Alberta Brown; daughter, Carliss Yvette Harris; two brothers, Willie McClain and Jimmy Jones; and sister, Carrie Sanders.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home to pay their respects. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel, with Deacon Charles Smith officiating.
