Ellabell- Mrs. Doris Ann Burton Sanders, age 68 passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at her home. Mrs. Sanders was born in Chicago, IL to the late James Duke Burton, Sr. and Betty Jeanette Godbee on July 12, 1954. Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker and business manager of the family business, Sanders Trucking for over 20 years. She loved gardening, both flowers and vegetables and enjoyed taking care of her chickens. She adored her children and grandchildren and accepted Christ at Christ Church in Bloomingdale. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Michael Dean Sanders and one grandson, Jason William Mongold, Jr.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, April Dawn and Jason Mongold of Pembroke and Kristy De Ann and Berry Hardwick of Guyton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Sue and Maurice Shirley of Guyton and Dana Leigh and Terrell Pevey of Springfield; two brothers and a sister-in-law, James Duke Burton, Jr. of Springfield and John Glenn Burton, Sr. and Terry Burton of Sumpter, SC; four grandchildren, Angaleigh DeAnne “Itsy Bitsy” Harvey, Jospeh Wilson “Bubba” Mongold, Anna Elisabeth “Annie” Mongold and Hailey De Ann “Chicken Bone” Hardwick; one great granddaughter, Isabelle Dawn “Izzy Belle” Harvey and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from noon to 1 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2022 at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held 1 P.M. Monday, July 25, 2022 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Northside Cemetery.
