Daniel Hill Bragg Sr

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Hill "Danny" Bragg Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Danny departed this life on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, at the age of 73. surrounded by family under the care of Gentiva Hospice. He was a beloved resident of Pembroke, Georgia, and was born on Thursday, August 14th, 1952, in Statesboro, Georgia.

Danny was a devoted husband to Janice Butler Bragg, his wife of 54 years, and a proud father to Daniel "Buck" Bragg and Jaime Bragg, both of whom reside in Pembroke, GA. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Hunter Bragg of Eden, GA, Brock Bragg (Kaira) of Pembroke, GA, Katie Kromer (Chase) of Guyton, GA, and Kourtney Marsh (Nick) of Pembroke, GA. He also found great joy in his great-grandchildren, Nova and Navy Kromer, Waylon Bragg, Miley Sumner, and a set of twins on the way. Danny is survived by his siblings, Dave Bragg (Linda) and Calamity Mikell (Spencer), and his many adored nieces and nephews.

He is now reunited with those who preceded him in death, including his father, Ira Thomas Bragg, mother, Katie Hill Saxon, brother, Ricky Hires, sister, Polly Alberta Bragg Williams, daughter-in-law, Darlene Bragg, and his beloved dog, Monkey.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Danny worked as a switchman for CSX, and served bravely in the Air National Guard. His passions included fishing, hunting, and spending time at his river house in years past. He was an avid animal lover, with a special fondness for dogs. A sports enthusiast, Danny played basketball during high school and was a fan of Hank Williams Jr., enjoying dancing and sharing a joyful dance floor. Above all, Danny had an immense love for his family and was overjoyed at the prospect of welcoming twin great-grandchildren into the world.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory in Pembroke, GA. A funeral service to honor Danny's life will be held in the Funeral Chapel at Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, at 11:00 am with Pastor Tony Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow at Northside Cemetery.

Honoring Danny as pallbearers will be Chase Kromer, Brock Bragg, Cliff Horton, Nick Sumner, Edward Beasley, and Patrick Lane. Honorary pallbearer and good friend will be Herron Lee.

Arrangements have been lovingly made by Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory. Danny's departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his enduring love and cherished memories will continue to inspire all who knew him.
