Claude is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia Kuhns Turner, and his loving children: daughter Gena Turner Ramage and her husband Eric, sons Claude E. Turner Jr., and Chad E. Turner Sr., as well as stepsons Charles Mingledorff and Brian Mingledorff. He was a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Preceding Claude in death are his parents, Willie Clifford "Bill" Turner and Katie Lou Riner Mattair, his stepfather Wade Mattair, brother William "Kenny" Turner, sister Ann Hallisey, stepdaughter Michelle Holton, and stepsister Susan Beasley.
A dedicated professional, Claude worked as an Oiler at International Paper, where he was a proud member of the Papermakers Union Local 795. He also served his country with honor as a veteran of the Vietnam War in the United States Army.
Claude's heart belonged to his family and he was known as the best husband and grandfather. He treasured time with his loved ones, often considering his cousins as close as siblings. An enthusiast of yardwork and gardening, Claude also appreciated his younger years spent fishing and hunting. A faithful member of the Blitchton First Baptist Church, his church family and pastor held a special place in his heart.
Among his many passions, Claude was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, and in celebration of his life, attendees are encouraged to wear their Georgia Bulldogs colors to the service. He joyously embraced the holiday season, often dressing as Santa for family, friends, and area nursing homes.
