Mr. Clarence Shelton Calvert, 68, of Brooklet, Ga. passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday, November 2, 2025. He was born on January 9, 1958. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Debra A. Calvert, married September 10, 2025; his sister, Cynthia Akins (Dennis); sister-in-law, Connie Edenfield (Aubrey); two sons, Michael Byrd (Ashley) and Devin Boyles; two daughters, Melissa Wade (Brian) and Megan Burnsed (Daniel). His grandchildren are Devon and Braydon Byrd, Gracie, Lane and Michael Wade, Ariel, Euonie, Gabriel, Kaytlin and Isabel Burnsed.
Shelton, as he will always be remembered, was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Alvin and Miriam Estelle Calvert.
At the time of his passing, Shelton worked at Gateway Terminals. He had been employed on the riverfront for at least 30 years. His love for his family and racing were always first in his life. Shelton was greatly loved by all and will be greatly missed just as much.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be held at Northside Cemetery.
