Charles Mcdonald

Mr. Charles Franklin McDonald, 75, passed away peacefully Sunday morning October 9, 2016 at his home while surrounded by his family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.  Mr. McDonald was born in Chatham County on December 10, 1940 to the late Harry McDonald and Willie Hazel Shuman.  He retired from Georgia Dept. of Transportation with over 30 years of service and was a member of Blitchton Bible Baptist Church.  Mr. Charles enjoyed the outdoors, working in his shop, and rescuing animals.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Eubie Cook; one brother and four sisters.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 26 years, Ruby McDonald of Pembroke; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Paulette Muns of Pembroke; one daughter, Rose M. Glisson of Statesboro; one granddaughter, Brandie Edenfield; three grandchildren, Brandie Edenfield; three grandsons, B.J. Williams, Blake Lundy and Evan Muns and one great granddaughter, Chloe Edenfield.

Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Flanders Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at the Brick Yard Cemetery.
