Pembroke-Mr. Carl Joseph “Joe” Sikes, Jr. age 56 passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Mr. Sikes had lived in Pembroke all of his life and was a heavy equipment operator. He loved woodwork and construction, raising chickens, and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl Joseph, Sr. and Patricia Calahan Sikes.
He is survived by sisters and brothers-in–law Darlene and Matt Kern and Angel and Ronnie Cole all of Brunswick; a great niece Carly Cole of Brunswick, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorial service will be 7 P.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in the chapel of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Sikes Family Fund: c/o Mrs. Darlene Kern, 119 Hannah Ln., Brunswick, Georgia 31523.
