Pembroke - Carey Hendry Bacon, age 77, passed away Sunday morning, February 8, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mrs. Bacon was a life-long resident of Bryan County, a life-long member of Ellabell Methodist Church and retired from Frances Myers Inc. after many years of service. She enjoyed traveling to see her grandson, Will in Maryland and loved watching and feeding the birds in her yard.
Mrs. Bacon is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Lee and Mary Denmark Hendry and seven siblings, Marguarete Shaw, Uldine Burnsed, Lois Burnsed, Therman Hendry, Frankie Miller, Sammy Hendry, and Harry Hendry.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Jerry G. Collins of Pembroke; sons and a daughter-in-law, James Kelly Newman of White City, FL and Richard Edsel and Linda Newman of Wewahitchka, FL; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Virginia Hendry Lee of Ellabell and Glenda Hendry and Ray Carter of Black Creek; three grandchildren, Carla MacDonald, Richard Keith Newman, and Kristen Lee Newman; two great grandchildren, William MacDonald and Benjamin Money-Parker.
Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2 P.M. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 in the chapel of Flanders Morrison Funeral Home with Rev.
