Obituary

Betty Joe Brantley O'Hare, a beloved resident of Ellabell, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17th, 2026, at the age of 52. Born on Wednesday, April 3rd, 1974, in Great Falls, Montana, Betty was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew her.

With a heart as big as her laughter, Betty had an innate ability to light up any room she entered. Her life was a testament to her love for family, friends, and faith. Betty loved life deeply and found immense joy in the simple pleasures—gardening, solving puzzles, and helping others. Her devotion to Jesus was unwavering, and she embodied this faith through acts of kindness and generosity.

Though she chose never to work in the traditional sense, Betty found fulfillment in being a wonderful helper to her family and community. Her loved ones will always cherish her infectious sense of humor, her caring spirit, and her endless capacity for empathy. She was the kind of person who made everyone’s day a little brighter.

Betty is survived by her father, Jack Brantley, and his wife, Dorenda; her sister, Kathy M. Clarke, and husband, Charles; and her sister-in-law, Heather Brantley. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her nieces and nephews: Franklin L. Coleman (Shena), Adrian Coleman (Ondina), Lindsey Coleman, David Brantley Jr. (Tiffany), Michael W. Brantley (Gabrielle), Kenneth S. Brantley (Maia), Johnathan Brantley (Brooke), Paul Brantley, Elizabeth Lang, and Noah Clarke, as well has a host of great nieces and nephews. Betty is also survived by very close friends Christian and Michelle Rogers and Tristin and Gage Frawley.

Betty was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Timothy P. O'Hare; her mother, Catherine Emily Smith Gardner; her brother, David Morgan Brantley; and her grandparents, William M. and Doris Brantley, and Edward and Emily Smith.

To honor Betty's memory, a visitation will be held at Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory in Pembroke, GA on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to assist with funeral expenses, ensuring that Betty's legacy of love and laughter continues to shine bright.

Arrangements are entrusted to Flanders Powell Funeral Home & Crematory, who have provided compassionate care during this difficult time.
