Barbara Jean "Bobbie" VanGiller, 63, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at MUSC Orangeburg in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Barbara was born July 19,1962 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Robert VanGiller and Carolyn Williams VanGiller.
Before becoming disabled, Barbara worked at Georgia Ports Authority in Savannah. It was then that she and her surviving partner decided to move to Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her father, Robert VanGiller, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Robin (Scooter) Baker and her brother, Eugene VanGiller.
Barbara loved to fish, shoot pool, listen to music and watch movies.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her partner of 27 years, David Doyle of Orangeburg, South Carolina; son, Larry Fleming (Victoria) of Tellico Plains, Tennessee; sister, Patricia Fleming (Ronnie) of Pembroke, Georgia; brother, Robert D. VanGiller (Margie) of Denmark, Georgia; six grandchildren, Taylor and James Shuman, Jayce and Hunter Baker, Delanie Jean and James Larry Fleming Jr.; and a great granddaughter, Evelynn Everett.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 2-3pm at Flanders Powell Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held the same day at 3pm in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. John Whitaker of Harville Baptist Church officiating.
