Barbara Jean Purvis

Savannah- Mrs. Barbara Jean Holmes Purvis, age 87 passed away Friday, August 30, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mrs. Purvis was born in Wheatland, WY to the late Guy Holmes and Alice Utter Holmes. She worked as a clerk for the Army Corp of Engineers for 25 years. Mrs. Purvis was a long-time member of First Church of Christ Science in Savannah, GA. At the church, Mrs. Barbara served as bookkeeper, Sunday School teacher, usher and reader. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Holmes.

 Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Kenneth Aubrey Purvis of Savannah; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William L. Purvis of Savannah and David Alan and Angela Purvis of Margaritaville, SC and one grandson, Joshua Lee Purvis of Knoxville, TN
