Alvin Grady (A.G.) Wells, Jr.

Hinesville- Alvin Grady (A.G.) Wells, Jr., age 84, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. A lifelong resident of Liberty County, he was born in the Gum Branch community to the late Alvin G. Wells, Sr. and Idele Sikes Wells. After graduating from Bradwell Institute in Hinesville and the University of Georgia, he completed his studies at the UGA School of Law in 1974. He remained a member of the Georgia Bar Association for the remainder of his life, practicing real estate law primarily. He spent six decades as a licensed land surveyor in Liberty and surrounding counties. Mr. Wells was a member of Liberty Baptist Church since 1954.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Marie Conner Wells; his brothers, Jiley, Dean, and Wyman Wells and his sister, Avis Wisner.

Survivors include five daughters, Marie (Bruce) Dubberly, Shelly Wells, Shannon (Luis) Montijo, Nicki Lee and Angela Torres; two sons, Tony (Tracy) Helmuth and Ray Griner, Jr.; sister, Kay Greene; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Noon - 1 P.M. Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Liberty Baptist Church.

Funeral services will follow at 1 P.M. Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Hamilton officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
