Allen McDaniel Penton, Jr.

Mr. Allen McDaniel Penton, Jr., age 61, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at his residence. Mr. Penton was born in Savannah to Allen McDaniel Penton, Sr. and Jerri Ann Brown Penton Stone on November 24, 1961. He was employed for 36 years with the Local Union 188 as a welder. Mr. Penton was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, saltwater fishing, loved the river, reading, was mechanically inclined, an animal lover and loved his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Brenda Overstreet Penton; father, Allen McDaniel Penton, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Clayton Ernest Brown and Bessie Wilder Brown and paternal grandparents, Henry L. Penton and Lillian Rahn Penton.

Survivors include his mother, Jerri Ann Penton Stone of Ellabell; sister, Polly Ann Sims and her husband Barry of Ellabell; three nieces, Emiliee, Meagan and Candace; one nephew, B.J. and numerous other great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Flanders Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Flanders Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tommy Smith officiating.

Burial will be held at Northside Cemetery.
