Alfred Zipperer

Ellabell

Ellabell-  Alfred E. Zipperer, age 88 passed away Sunday, February 12, 2022 at East Georgia Regional Hospital.  Mr. Zipperer was born in Savannah to the late Alfred Van Buren Zipperer and Gladys Elnora Rivers Zipperer.  He was a former resident of Effingham County and has lived in Ellabell for over 40 years.  Mr. Zipperer was an Army veteran having fought in the Korean War and was retired from GAF in Garden City with over 30 years of service as a master electrician.  He always stayed busy and loved salt water fishing, time with his grandchildren and coffee shared with his friends at Black Creek General Store.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Zipperer was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Helen Sims Zipperer; one daughter, Angelina McCullough; three brothers, Ralph Zipperer, J.W. Zipperer, and Talmadge Zipperer and one infant sister.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Sarah Zipperer of Ellabell, Jimmy and Janet Zipperer of Pt. Wentworth, Ronnie and Sarah Williams of Pembroke and Jack Williams of Pembroke; one daughter, Loretta Tant of Bruceton, TN; and grandchildren, Crystal Ryder, Jennifer Phipps, Jeremiah Zipperer, Jacquelyn Zipperer, Pippa Zipperer, Memphis Zipperer, Mason Zipperer, Jack Williams, Erica Marrisa Williams, Mary Nicole Williams and Monica Williams.

Visitation will be held 5 – 7 P.M. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be held 11 A.M. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Lower Black Creek Cemetery with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating.
